Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RADAR Target & ECM Emulator
The UTSís Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RADAR Target & ECM Emulator (RTE) is an ideal choice for testing RADAR systems in injection mode both for conventional RADAR signal types and LPI signals. The Emulator also has provisions for enabling ECM at target side, so that testing ECCM features of RADAR (DUT) is possible. The unit is highly portable and controlled through Ethernet from user friendly GUI running on PC.
The Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RTE takes the RADAR generated signal as input and produces output, which consists the effect of modeled targets with different characteristics, propagation losses, whether conditions, clutter and Doppler shifts. This output can be used as input to RADAR receiver to test the performance under different conditions. The product consists of control unit running on PC with GUI connected to embedded unit over Ethernet. The Embedded unit provides connections for RADAR signal (in) and target emulated signal (out).

Architecture & Core description
The UTS - Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RTE demonstration with multiple targets is shown in below videos. The pulse analyzer is used to capture the pulse data and measure the RADAR and TARGET generated TOA's difference. Based on the TOA difference, range is estimated and compared with the simulated RANGE.
The UTS- Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) Radar Signal Emulator (RSE) is used to generate RADAR waveform in this demonstration. Note that the Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RSE is capable of generating multi RADAR pulse scenario to validate ESM/ELINT category systems. However in this demo, since requirement is to only generate one RADAR signal, it is configured accordingly.
Generating multi target scenario is essential to validate certain features of RADAR. The below demo shows the demonstration for two targets configuration. Note that Digital Radio frequency Memory (DRFM) RTE can be configured up to any number of targets based on user requirement. The default models offer 8/16/32/64 targets.
